Attendees will gather at the Double Tree Hotel, Bethesda, MD to amplify the patient and stakeholder voice. We will impact the Anemia Research agenda by focusing on:

  • Understanding the current state of evidence regarding anemia management;
  • Identifying the quality and safety parameters important to patients in the management of their anemia;
  • Defining a range of critical research issues and opportunities that could improve care protocols, anemia management strategies and outcomes for dialysis patients;
  • Identifying and ranking priority research themes that can be used to investigate the challenges and bottlenecks that prevent better patient outcomes;
  • Developing a consensus-driven research priorities list that can be distributed to and disseminated by ESRD anemia management stakeholders;
  • Developing recommendations for future research projects that will be used to help patients achieve their goals;
  • Identifying specific funding mechanisms currently available for research and identifying funding deficiencies and opportunities related to specific priority topics. For eg. American Society of Nephrology (ASN), National Institute of Health (NIH), Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), The National Kidney Foundation (NKF))
